We were established with one main goal in mind, to help everyday Australians increase their wealth so they can do what they want, not be hamstrung by debt and their 9 to 5 jobs. We want to positively impact the lives of every person who comes in to contact with us, especially if they are looking to make a serious change to their future through property investing. Join us on this journey.
My name’s Kurt Mayell, I’m the Managing Director of the Brixwell Group. I’ve worked in financial services for the past 7 years and have held various roles within wealth advisory and trading firms.
As a university graduate I worked as an investment analyst for one the largest independent advisory firms in Australia – Dixon Advisory. There I worked on client portfolio construction, investment review, and various capital raising efforts.
I then went on to work for Australia’s second largest retail stockbroker, CMC Markets. Here I spent time in client acquisition and managing relationships for the firm’s high net wealth clients via the sales trading desk. I then transitioned into the lead dealer for the company’s Asian equity derivatives trading book. While holding this position it was my primary responsibility to manage the company’s open exposure to various markets, and ensure we had a diversified and well-structured portfolio to maximise return potential, while minimising unnecessary risk.
As the Managing Director of the Brixwell Group I oversee all activities of the business, from asset selection, relationship management, client events, idea generation and marketing. It is our vision to provide clients with clear and concise ways to look at their future financial needs and share with them proven solutions to help them build the life they wish to achieve.
My grandfather was a major influence on my life and gave me a passion to pursue a life and career within the investment community. He helped me to commence investing in shares from a young age and taught me how to be a strong saver so that I could purchase my first investment property in my very early 20s.
I live in Sydney’s Inner West, however my original home is Wollongong, you can find me there a few weekends a month visiting my family. I love exercising and keeping fit, get down to the snow as often as possible in the winter months, and enjoy watching several rugby codes and the NFL.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Dean’s Scholar) Degree majoring in Accounting and Finance from Wollongong University.
I’m Brian Taylor, Financing Partner at The Brixwell Group. For over 10 years I have worked in the financial services space with my most recent corporate positions being in the trading arm of Australia’s most prominent investment bank, before navigating my way through to mortgage origination. A few years back I realised that the set of skills that I have would go to better use if I ventured out on my own.
This has allowed me to provide the most suitable lending advice and products to clients, and have been able tailor the experience in a way that caters to clients in a way that large financial institutions simply can’t.
Since working with The Brixwell Group I have helped families to fund their dream homes, have helped investors to secure financing for their growing portfolios, and have worked on deals to help property developers get the funding they need to break ground on new projects.
It goes without saying that my passion is helping everyday Australians to achieve their financial goals, and I have spent a vast amount of time meeting the needs of our clients regardless of their knowledge and experience levels.
I live in the Inner West with my young family, and enjoy keeping fit and supporting my local sporting teams the NSW Waratahs and West Tigers.
Hi there I’m Donal Nee, Head Of Operations at The Brixwell Group. I’ve been in the financial services industry for over 10 years and have a wealth of experience in areas including trading, property investment, lending and business operations.
Over the course of my career I have worked for a leading derivatives trading company where I specialised in trading, portfolio construction and risk management across Eastern share markets.
During this time I was fortunate enough to work across the Asia Pacific region and spent a significant amount of time working and living in Singapore.
This experience and level of responsibility taught me a lot of lessons and has given me an acute attention to detail. I believe this has helped me to identify and resolve pain points in the investment process, which in turn helps to create strong and successful outcomes for our clients.
My passion for investing can be traced back to my early 20s when I bought my first investment property. I set in place a savings plan and learned how to take a scientific approach to research so that I could turn this dream into a reality, while ensuring that I was making well informed decisions. Ever since purchasing my very first investment I have been an avid follower of the global investment landscape and its drivers.
Outside the office I enjoy spending time with my wife and growing family. I’m an avid sports enthusiast and support the mighty West Tigers. I live in Sydney’s rapidly gentrifying inner west which is a far cry from my home town of Roundstone in Ireland, which I immigrated from more than 10 years ago.
